Getting Involved
Serving Those in Need
Join the Mission
Wives, mothers, grandmothers, daughters, granddaughters, sisters, aunts, nieces, cousins, and friends – human beings created in the image of God – all at risk for sexual trauma and sexual violence. Sadly, the current statistics show 1 in 3 females will experience sexual trauma or sexual violence sometime in her lifetime. Thankfully, each one of us can play a part in changing that trend! Break of Dawn will work on both prevention and restoration through education and by opening 1-3 restoration homes, but we won’t be able to do it without you. God created you and me for one purpose: to display His glory and to tell others of His love. We are told to be the light of the earth, to share the peace and good news of the gospel, going into every corner of society to transform it with Christ’s saving grace. Break of Dawn desires to show Christ’s love to teen girls and women who have been affected by sexual trauma and sexual violence so they can find hope, healing, and freedom that only Jesus can provide. Will you join us in this mission?

What we do
Creating Refuge & Restoration
Prayer
Prayer will always be our starting point. “…pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.” James 5:16
Extravagant Giving
Through extravagant giving we cover the vulnerabilities of homelessness, poverty, addiction, mental health, low self-esteem, abuse and neglect, dysfunctional family systems, being in the foster care system, and other areas that leave teen girls and women prey to those who seek to take advantage of them for their own profit, gain, or pleasure.
Education
Break of Dawn works to educate kids, teens, parents, families, businesses, and communities in an effort to prevent sexual trauma and sexual violence from occurring in our circles of influence. We will positively impact individuals and our communities immediately while we work towards our long-term goal of opening restoration homes.
Restoration Homes
Break of Dawn hopes to open 1-3 restoration homes across northern Wisconsin where teen girls, women, and women and their children can find a safe place to heal from the effects of sexual trauma and sexual violence, which includes sexual abuse, molestation, incest, assault, sex-trafficking and sexual exploitation.
What Drives Us
Our Mission
“Our passion comes from 20 years of dealing with the effects of my own sexual trauma and working through the pain and process of healing ourselves. We’re also very passionate because we have seen over and over just how many others are struggling with these challenging hurts, as well.” Jennifer Dueholm, Co-Founder & Executive Director
Thankfully, God doesn’t waste any of our pain! He’s brought us to a point where we can enthusiastically say, “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God!” 2 Corinthians 1:3-4. Our prayer is that Break of Dawn will be a place where teen girls and women affected by sexual trauma and sexual violence can find Hope Healing Freedom.
