Bringing Hope Healing Freedom
Our History
“Our passion comes from 20 years of dealing with the effects of my own sexual trauma and working through the pain and process of healing ourselves. We’re also very passionate because we have seen over and over just how many others are struggling with these challenging hurts, as well. The vision, then, comes straight from Heaven.”

The Vision
In 2002, Jennifer was sexually assaulted while on a work trip. Like many other victims of rape, she blamed herself and decided she would simply forget it ever happened, not telling anyone – not even her closest friends and family members. Over the course of a couple years, she had repressed away any memory of the incident. In 2011, however, during a very challenging time for their family, those memories came bursting back into her conscious psyche. She and her husband were catapulted onto a course with no manual to follow. During the intense healing journey, God gave Jennifer a verse she clung to: “Then your light will break forth like the dawn and your healing will quickly appear.” Isaiah 58:8. It was also at that moment when God downloaded a vision that took ten years to come to fruition. Meet Break of Dawn!

Who We Are
Break of Dawn, Inc., 501(c)(3), is a Christ-centered nonprofit in northern Wisconsin organized to help meet the needs of teen girls and women who have been affected by sexual trauma and sexual violence by providing effective, compassionate, and comprehensive services, along with providing a message of hope and faith, centered on Christ’s message. Break of Dawn will also work to educate communities and individuals about sexual abuse, as well as sex-trafficking and sexual exploitation in our communities.
Break of Dawn’s foundation is the Cornerstone, the Rock, the firm foundation, Jesus Christ. Out of that rock you will find its two pillars: prayer and extravagant giving.
Prayer will always be our starting point. “…pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.” James 5:16
Take one look around, and you’ll notice people. People who are struggling financially, emotionally, and spiritually. Break of Dawn is called to care for widows and orphans and those affected by sexual trauma and violence by extravagantly supporting them. Break of Dawn’s
Short-Term & Long-Term Goals
Short-Term Goals
Since its inception, Break of Dawn has focused on its two pillars of prayer and extravagant giving and will continue to do so in the years ahead. We will compassionately support those in our communities whether they have experienced sexual trauma and sexual violence or not. It is our desire to cover the vulnerabilities of homelessness, poverty, addiction, mental health, low self-esteem, abuse and neglect, dysfunctional family systems, being in the foster care system, and other areas that leave teen girls and women prey to those who seek to take advantage of them for their own profit, gain, or pleasure. Break of Dawn also hopes to educate kids, teens, parents, families, businesses, and communities in an effort to prevent sexual trauma and sexual violence from occurring in our circles of influence. We can positively impact individuals and our communities immediately while we work towards our long-term goals.
Long-Term Goals
Break of Dawn hopes to open 1-3 restoration homes across northern Wisconsin where teen girls, women, and women and their children can find a safe place to heal from the effects of sexual trauma and sexual violence, which includes sexual abuse, molestation, incest, assault, sex-trafficking and sexual exploitation.
Carrying out both our short-term and long-term goals will take a village! Contact us to find out how you can get involved!
