Who me? Not just for the at-risk! Hope Healing Freedom Break of Dawn, Inc., 501(c)(3), is a Christ-centered nonprofit in northern Wisconsin organized to help meet the needs of teen girls and women who have been affected by sexual trauma and sexual violence by providing effective, compassionate, and comprehensive services, along with providing a message of hope and faith, centered on Christ’s message. Break of Dawn will also work to educate communities and individuals about sexual abuse, as well as sex-trafficking and sexual exploitation in our communities. With the addition of the Break of Dawn Adoption Foundation, we will help provide funding to families looking to adopt children from teenage girls and women who find themselves pregnant as a result of sexual trauma and sexual violence, or in cases of unexpected pregnancies, in addition to helping families with funding for the adoption of teenage girls. Break of Dawn’s foundation is the Cornerstone, the Rock, the firm foundation, Jesus Christ. Out of that rock you will find its Two Pillars: Prayer and Extravagant Giving. Prayer will always be our starting point. “…pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.” James 5:16 Extravagant Giving. Take one look around, and you’ll notice people. People who are struggling financially, emotionally, and spiritually. Break of Dawn is called to care for widows and orphans and those affected by sexual trauma and violence by extravagantly supporting them. Break of Dawn is for Every Female Including You. Remove the assumption that someone needs to be in a dramatic, at-risk, over-the-top scene from the movies to receive help. Wives, mothers, grandmothers, daughters, granddaughters, sisters, aunts, nieces, cousins, and friends – human beings created in the image of God – all at risk for sexual trauma and sexual violence. The sobering statistics show 1 in 3 females have experienced some form of sexual trauma so, here at Break of Dawn, we help anyone ages 13+ who needs the hope, healing, and freedom only Christ brings. If that’s you or someone you know, email us at info@breakofdawninc.org. Since Break of Dawn’s official inception, we’ve come in contact with many people. A standard donation pick up or call can very quickly turn into a ministry opportunity. On one occasion, we went to someone’s house who was going to donate an In-Kind donation. We had never met this person before but, because she had learned about Break of Dawn through our website, she opened up to us about the horrors of her childhood and adulthood, all of which included sexual abuse from relatives and eventually forced prostitution by her ex-husband. She shared these painful realities that few knew about because being validated by someone else who understands on some level can be like healing salve on a reopened wound. We were able to support her with listening ears, prayers, and offers for continued help. God keeps us on our toes since we never know if a typical task will turn into a chance where God uses us as a conduit of His love. And isn’t that what every day should be like for a Christ-follower? You can join the work God is doing by booking me to speak about prevention and restoration at your church, youth group, small group, business, place of work, or community group, by joining the Prayer Team or as a Board member, volunteering, spreading the word, or sowing financially into the ministry. We love to give back to you whenever we can since we couldn’t do what we do without your support! From now until March 31st, you have a chance to win a donated $100 VISA gift card. Anyone who refers someone to Break of Dawn’s newsletter will be entered in a drawing. The more names you submit, the more chances for you to win! First, pray. Prayer is always the starting point. Seek God about who you should invite. Consider pastors, teachers, people from church, friends, family, co-workers, your accountant, hairstylist, and other professionals, your neighbors. Compile your list and ask permission. Refer anyone who has a heart for teen girls and women who have experienced sexual trauma or sexual violence and anyone who wants to learn more about how they can make a difference in their circles of influence. Email office@breakofdawninc.org. After you receive permission, email us with each person’s name and email address. Every name is an entry to win. The more names you submit, the more chances you have to win! Break of Dawn’s base is in Spooner, but our sphere of impact is wherever you are. Whenever you share what God is doing through Break of Dawn, you bring glory to Him and allow more people to receive help. Even the people you talk to may fall into the category of someone who has been affected by sexual trauma and sexual violence in need of help or they will know someone who needs help. Thank you for helping expand Break of Dawn’s scope of influence! The gift card drawing will take place the first week in April and the winner will be notified via the email used to submit each name. Break of Dawn only emails 1-2 times a month and does not share personal information. Last month we shared how the generous donor who put forth the $12,000 match had extended the timeframe to May 15th to allow more people to join the team. To God be the glory, we’ve already raised $7,126.15 towards that goal! Thank you to everyone who has contributed. Every dollar raised from #GivingTues 2022 (Nov. 29th) to May 15th will be doubled.
